The Attorney General’s Office has ordered members of the Federal Public Prosecutor to use the “e-Space” communication system developed internally, instead of private message applications (such as WhatsApp and Telegram). The measure was taken in administrative proceedings instituted after reports of invasions in the accounts kept in the Telegram application of members of the Car Wash Operation (Operação Lava Jato).

The mechanism uses its own infrastructure and encryption duly certified by the MPF (Federal Public Prosecutor) to make mobile and fixed communications secure through video conferencing or messaging. The Attorney General also ordered the issuance of an ordinance to discipline the obligation to use the tool by members and servers.
