The Seoul immigration office will no longer print Alien Registration Cards, which are issued to all work-authorized foreign nationals and their dependents. While responsibility for printing the cards is being transferred to the Korea Minting & Security Printing Corporation, the turnaround time for the cards may increase to three weeks in some cases. Once the new printing process is fully implemented, the waiting period is expected to return to a timeframe of 10 to 14 days.

The delays will also impact persons who change immigration status in Korea, since those persons must have their Alien Registration Cards reissued.

These delays will impact companies with foreign national employees in Korea.
