Traffic Act and Wages Act Amended

On 20 September 2007 the Riigikogu adopted the Traffic Act and Wages Act Amendment Act. The amendments bring Estonian legislation into compliance with new EU legislation aimed at improving traffic safety, providing better social guarantees for drivers and ensuring a level playing field for all carriers. Amendments to the Traffic Act clarify the obligations of drivers and passengers of motor vehicles in the event their vehicle is pulled over by the police, as well as penalties for failure to comply. The amendment in the Wages Act relates to the calculation and payment of wages to drivers of motor vehicles.
