Competition: Commission carries out unannounced inspections in the sector of automotive electrical and electronic components suppliers

Starting on 24 February 2010, the Commission carried out unannounced inspections at the premises of companies active in the sectors for automotive electrical distribution systems and for other automotive electronic and electrical distribution systems components in several Member States. The Commission has reason to believe that the companies in question may have violated Article 101 TFEU and Article 53 of the Agreement on the European Economic Area, which prohibit cartels and restrictive business practices. Commission officials were accompanied by their counterparts from the relevant national competition authorities. The Commission’s investigation was coordinated with several other competition authorities worldwide. Source: Commission Press Release 25/2/2010
