Merger control (Finland): Finnish Competition Authority approves proposed acquisition of Citibank International plc’s private consumer credit portfolio by S-Pankki Oy

The Finnish Competition Authority (“FCA”) approved the proposed acquisition of Citibank International plc’s (“Citibank”) Finnish branch’s private consumer credit portfolio by S-Pankki Oy (“S-Pankki”). S-Pankki, which belongs to the S-Group, offers services related to saving, paying and investment financing in Finland as well as on the Internet. The FCA concluded that the proposed acquisition will not create or strengthen such a dominant market position that would significantly impede effective competition in the Finnish market or in any substantial part thereof.
